BUNKER SURVEY (EITHER ON-HIRE BUNKER SURVEY OR OFF-HIRE BUNKER SURVEY)

A bunker survey is carried out in order to find any concealed (un-declared) fuel onboard the vessel. Our marine surveyors meticulously carry out an inspection to ensure continuous successful results that are cost-effective for our clients.

Bunker cost is one of the largest operating costs, so it is vital that the exact quantity of bunkers onboard is known. There are many ways fuel can be concealed on a vessel, such as: hidden compartments, altered sounding pipe lengths, ‘magic pipes', etc. Our surveyors have firsthand experience and are aware of the various methods used to conceal bunkers. Thorough surveys are conducted which prevent events such as bribery and cappuccino bunkers, saving clients a fortune.

We keep our interest in protecting our clients and ensure that no dereliction of duty occurs during bunkering operations, thus providing a fair and ethical service of the very best quality.
